May 16, 2008, Newsletter Issue #117: Umbrella Strollers and Carriages

Tip of the Week

So, the stork dropped off a new bundle of joy, but nothing to cart it around in? When considering a stroller, think in terms of convenience, safety and price. Some parents prefer an umbrella stroller because it is generally more lightweight, compact and inexpensive. In contrast, a carriage stroller is easier to push and significantly more sturdy.

If possible, purchase multiple strollers to serve different purposes. This way, you can have a compact, lightweight stroller to stow away in the car and a sturdy number at home to pull out for long walks to the park.

Before using any type of stroller, always check for any recalls or safety issues arisen since the manufacturing of the stroller.
