June 23, 2006, Newsletter Issue #22: Designer Bedding

Tip of the Week

As parents are demanding more superior quality products for their babies, a number of designer bedding brands are found on the market today. While we don't have any specific favorites, the main differences to look for when shopping for quality baby bedding is the value of the materials and their construction. Inexpensive baby bedding tends to be made with cheaper quality composition and supplies; also keep in mind, well-known name brands do not always translate into higher quality. Look closely at the packaging and bedding labels, the lower characteristics tend to be cotton/poly blend fabrics with a low thread count. To find truly exceptional baby bedding, look for 100% cotton with a thread count of 200 threads per inch or more, double stitched seams, with bright vibrant colors.
