November 16, 2007, Newsletter Issue #91: Baby Toys for Newborns

Tip of the Week

A toy for a baby should cater to a newborn baby's interests and needs. Seek toys with large features and bright colors as a newborn baby finds focusing on objects difficult. Also, consider toys that rattle and make noise to improve the baby's reflexes. In particular, infant babies are exploring all their senses and choosing toys that involve touch, sound, lights, and texture, aid your baby's development.

New babies are relatively helpless, therefore safety is always a key component of any baby toy. Watch out for lightly attached parts that might loosen and become a choking hazard for a baby.
